Ahead of its February 24 launch, the alleged press renders of the LG G8 have leaked online giving us a peek into what the phone could look like. The leaked press renders, which come as a courtesy of XDA Developers, show that the LG G7 ThinQ successor, which we reviewed last year, will sport a notch on top along with a dual camera setup at the back. The leaked images also reveal that the phone would come with a fingerprint sensor that is placed on the top quadrant of the phone just below the dual camera setup. The images also reveal that the notch, in the front, houses the front camera along with a bunch of sensors but falls short of an earpiece, which could indicate that the phone could indeed sport the sound-on-display technology, as has been pointed out by several leaks in the past. Apart from this, the phone, just like its predecessor, is likely to come with a set of four buttons on the sides- two volume control keys and a key to invoke Google Assistant on the left side, and a button to turn the phone off on the right.Notably, the leaked press renders are quite similar to the CAD renders shared by OnLeaks earlier this month, sporting a notch in the front and a dual-rear camera setup with a fingerprint scanner on the back. However, LG’s global PR head, Ken Hong, at the time had dismissed the images saying that the images were “not real”. So for now, there is no confirmation on how the LG G8 would look like.advertisementFurthermore, the leaked renders also don’t reveal much about the phone’s technical specifications. While the previous rumours have hinted that the phone would run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, the new set of reports doing rounds on the internet suggest that the LG G8 might have Snapdragon 855 in its core. Besides this, the phone is also tipped to sport a second attachable screen along with Android 9.0 Pie.Meanwhile, LG has confirmed that it would unveil its first ever 5G smartphone at its February 24 event. The phone, as the company said, would run on Snapdragon 855 and it would come with a gigantic 4,000mAh batteryAt this point it remains to be seen if the LG G8 would support 5G connectivity of if the company would launch a different device with the feature.ALSO READ: | LG G8 rumour roundup: Attachable screen, sound on display and everything else we know so farALSO READ: | LG to unveil its first 5G smartphone with Snapdragon 855 at MWC 2019ALSO READ: | LG’s MWC 2019 teaser hints at a phone with touchless gesturesGet real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
