After being assigned an RPS3 rating as a residential primary servicer for its prime product in August, PHH Mortgage was assigned additional servicer ratings by rating agency Fitch on Monday. Fitch said that the servicer’s assigned ratings and Stable Outlook reflected the company’s experienced senior management staff, enterprise-wide risk environment, compliance protocols and investments in its servicing technology. The additional RPS 3 U.S. residential primary servicer rating was given to PHH for its Alt-A, subprime, and HELOC products as well as for being a special servicer and its specialty closed-end second lien operations.According to Fitch, it reviewed PHH’s financial statements to provide an internal assessment as a company’s financial condition is one of the components on which Fitch servicer ratings are analyzed.”PHH has a robust enterprise risk management hierarchy in place with multiple components embedded in the framework to identify, monitor, and address risk including proactive change management processes, quality assurance, and quality control protocols and a multi-dimensional testing program,” Fitch said. “PHH utilizes a hybrid model for internal audit where oversight is retained among a small group of auditors internally and the bulk of audit work is co-sourced to a third party auditing firm.”In February 2018, the company announced its planned merger with Ocwen Financial Corp. “The companies are currently targeting closing the transaction in the third quarter of 2018. The merger includes migrating Ocwen’s loan portfolio from its legacy proprietary system onto PHH’s system, which utilizes Black Knight Mortgage Processing Solutions (BKMPS) and LoanSphere Mortgage Servicing Package (MSP),” a statement from Fitch said, adding that the rating agency believed that the potential synergies realized with the merger, including an enhanced technology environment, best practices developed for compliance, audit, and loan servicing processes, as well as multi-layered disaster recovery and business continuity contingencies, could prove beneficial if developed properly in the resulting single entity.   Demand Propels Home Prices Upward 2 days ago Subscribe Governmental Measures Target Expanded Access to Affordable Housing 2 days ago The Best Markets For Residential Property Investors 2 days ago Home / Daily Dose / Fitch Assigns Additional Servicer Ratings for PHH Data Provider Black Knight to Acquire Top of Mind 2 days ago The Best Markets For Residential Property Investors 2 days ago Related Articles September 10, 2018 2,276 Views The Week Ahead: Nearing the Forbearance Exit 2 days agolast_img read more

Oxford researcher suggests Donald Trump has stronger psychopathic traits than Hitler

first_imgAn Oxford researcher has pegged Republican Party’s presidential hopeful Donald Trump at 171 on the PPI-R test for psychopathic traits. The study, which was drawn up by Oxford’s Dr Kevin Dutton, saw him and a collection of political experts estimate Trump’s response to 56 psychometric questions. The results place him two points above Adolf Hitler, who scores 169.The test “does not say whether someone is a psychopath,” explains Dr Dutton, “it scores them on eight traits that contribute to a psychopathic character.“Both great and terrible leaders score higher than the general population for psychopathic traits, but it is the mix of those traits that determines success.“Some of those traits, such as fearlessness or stress immunity, can be positive. Others, such as blame externalisation or being unconcerned about the future, are more likely to be negative. One, cold-heartedness, can contribute to good and bad leadership.”Trump scored higher than Hitler on “social influence” and “fearlessness”, but lower on traits usually considered bad, such as “Machiavellian egocentricity” and “cold-heartedness”. One trait both figures share is “blame externalisation”, a common feature of populist politics. The findings, which were published in the journal Scientific American Mind, also measured the estimated score of Hillary Clinton, who was found to have a very high score for “Machiavellian egocentricity”. On the measure for “fearless dominance”, traditionally associated with strong presidencies, Trump’s score was higher. The study is another example of the worldwide Trump phenomenon reaching Oxford, after students organised a protest against his candidacy in March. Dr Dutton, who included Trump as part of a wider study on the relationship between psychopathy and political leadership, was nonetheless keen to stress that “in the end, while both score relatively highly, it will be up to voters to decide if whether their mix of positive and negative traits should send them to the Oval Office.”last_img read more

Governor Wolf Statement on Senate Advancing Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood

first_img Healthcare,  Press Release,  Public Health,  Statement,  Women’s Rights Harrisburg, PA –Governor Tom Wolf today released the following statement on a Pennsylvania Senate committee advancing a bill that would effectively defund Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania:“This bill is nothing more than an ideologically driven attempt to disrupt health services for thousands of women in Pennsylvania. Planned Parenthood provides important health and welfare services for men and women, especially in rural and underserved areas. Some politicians in Harrisburg are dead set on putting themselves in between a woman and her doctor and prevent both men and women from having access to services they may not have an opportunity to get elsewhere. This legislation solves no problems but rather seeks to create additional hardship for Pennsylvanians seeking health care, especially women. I call on Senate leadership to put a stop to this legislation, but if they refuse, I will veto this bill if it reaches my desk.” Governor Wolf Statement on Senate Advancing Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood SHARE Email Facebook Twittercenter_img April 26, 2017last_img read more

Everton sign Cleverley

first_imgEverton have agreed a deal to sign out-of-contract Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley on a five-year-deal. He has previously worked with Everton manager Roberto Martinez during a season-long loan at Wigan in 2010-11 and the Spaniard is a known admirer of the England international. “Everton have agreed a deal to sign Tom Cleverley when his contract expires at Manchester United on July 1,” said a statement on “The 25-year-old England midfield player will arrive on a five-year contract, becoming the first signing of the summer by manager Roberto Martinez.” The Everton manager believes they have signed a player who is entering the peak of his career. “We are extremely delighted to be welcoming Tom to Everton and I can think of many reasons as to why our fans will enjoy Tom representing our football club,” said Martinez. “The most important one is that he is a perfect fit for what we are trying to build here as he has so much experience of playing in the Premier League and he still has his best years just ahead of him. “At the age of 25 and a player who is representing his country, Tom has experienced winning trophies and having big roles in demanding teams. “Having worked with him previously, I know the type of character he is and I know that, with the Everton fans’ support, we will get a very special footballer joining our already exciting team. Press Association “It says a lot also, when someone like Tom is available on a free transfer and he can pick his next club out of many options home and abroad, that he has chosen to play for our football club. That’s the perfect start to his career here at Everton.” Martinez was keen to bolster his midfield and the capture of Cleverley at the second attempt will do that, although the Toffees boss is in the market primarily for a number 10 who can play behind the striker. He also needs another centre-back after the departure of veteran Sylvain Distin following the expiration of his contract. Youngster Brendon Galloway will provide back-up in that position after making his first-team breakthrough, although Martinez wants him and the 21-year-old Tyias Browning to go out on loan to gain valuable experience in the Championship and the target is for each to play around 20 matches – ideally in the first half of the season. The 25-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the month and the Toffees have moved quickly to secure his services. Cleverley spent last season on loan at FA Cup finalists Aston Villa after a deadline-day move to Everton collapsed last summer. last_img read more

Red Beard’s Barbershop, landlord move out due to building structure concerns

first_imgby James Jordan, Sumner Newscow – The building housing Red Beard’s Barbershop at Washington and Lincoln Streets in Wellington was shut down and roped off Thursday.Rumor had it that the building had been determined not safe. City officials said the city code department had no contact with the owners and were not involved with the building in any way. They did say they had received a lot of calls Thursday morning about the building after it appeared roped off.The owner Jan Spevak, was not available for comment. She lived on the top floor of the building. She has moved out as well according to sources.Spencer Furman, who owns Red Beard’s Barber Shop on the ground floor, posted on his Facebook page that he was “as confused as everyone else,” but made it clear he had to move. He said he had been told the building was structurally unsafe because of earthquake damage.Furman said he had seen pieces of the ceiling falling so he knew there were problems, but closing it down was not expected.  He said a construction engineer had examined the property, and when he saw the landlords – the owners – moving out, he decided to do the same.He said the Wellington Heat had helped him with the moving process. Spencer said he is looking at a few places and hopes to be open for business again in a few days.“I am not done cutting. I just need some time to pick up the pieces and figure out where to put them down,” he wrote.Follow us on Facebook.Follow us on Twitter. Close Forgot password? I doubt it. A least as the primary cause. I suspect water damage. BTW, doesn’t this building (the old Masonic Lodge building) have one of the oldest working elevators in the state? I thought I read that several years ago, maybe around the Wellington Centennial celebration time frame. Another tidbit: The building is on the Register of Kansas Historic Places. QZ8501: Out of control

first_imgEvidence is mounting that AirAsia flight QZ8501 encountered a freak weather event that sent it on a terrifying ride before it plummeted into the ocean.Radar play back of the plane’s flight path leaked by Indonesian authorities show it climbing at 9000ft a minute and then being slammed into a dive at 11,000ft a minute with bursts of up to 24,000ft a minute. But the plane’s forward speed was barely 100km/ hour.Earlier this week broke the news that the plane was well above its assigned altitude and at a forward speed less than required to sustain flight.Controllers lost contact with the A320 just four minutes after its crew requested a deviation of their route to avoid storms. An A320 check captain told that the leaked data was an accurate representation of Flt QZ8501. “If these figures are correct, QZ8501 was in a stall almost exactly equal to the parameters recorded on AF447,” he said. “The aircraft was out of control. It’s scary how similar to AF447 it looks.”Air France 447 was lost in the mid Atlantic in 2009. The French investigator found that the A330 crashed after inconsistencies between the airspeed measurements – due most likely to the A330’s pitot tubes being obstructed by ice – caused the autopilot to disconnect. It concluded that the crew reacted incorrectly and ultimately led the A330 to an aerodynamic stall from which they did not recover.AirAsia chief executive Tony Fernandes said that preliminary investigations suggest that the A320 encountered “very unique weather.”The Airbus A320 was flying between Surabaya and Singapore with 162 passengers and crew on Sunday when it disappeared off radar in 42 minutes into the flight. Indonesia navy divers have been searching the ocean floor for any sign of QZ8501 but bad weather hampered those efforts. And the outlook is getting worse with winds of up to 32km/hour whipping up 2 to 3 metre seas with white caps forecast over the next four days making spotting and recovery of debris difficult. On Wednesday an Indonesian official told CNN that a Navy ship using sonar diction equipment had found the plane but later Mr Fernandes discounted that claim.Separately French and Singaporean crash investigators have arrived to help in the recovery of the plane’s black boxes. Those investigators are using sensors to try and pick up a signal from the A320s emergency locator transmitter.A new passenger list released by the Indonesian Transport Ministry has revealed that 23 passengers, including two families, missed the flight – some due to a mix-up on the departure time. The original bookings for the flight totalled 177 made up of 157 adults, 20 children and four infants. Actual uplift was 138 adults, 16 children and 1 infant. The crew were made up of two pilots, one engineer and four flight attendants.last_img read more
