Finally Batman Gets a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Countless actors have taken up the cape and cowl over the years, from Adam West to Michael Keaton to Christian Bale to Kevin Conroy, in films that have earned billions of dollars and even Academy Awards. Just look at how breathlessly we’ve all be reporting about Robert Pattinson being the next actor to inhabit the role.So even though he’s a fictional comic book character and not a real cinematic actor, we can’t argue with the recent decision to give Batman his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.The politics of who gets a star on the Walk of Fame and how are a little sketchy, possibly involving payola. But regardless, Variety has the scoop on the next crop of winners, whittled down from a list of finalists by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Selection Committee. And Batman is on the list.Other notable winners include Julia Roberts, Spike Lee, Mahershala Ali, Chris Hemsworth, Andy Cohen, Wendy Williams, Christina Applegate, Terry Crews, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Billy Idol, Tanya Tucker, Billy Porter, and Dave Chappelle. Mark Hamill, an actor with plenty of Batman history as the most famous animated Joker voice, just got a star, too.
