first_imgYesterday (24/11/2015) Oro Governor Gary Juffa presented K500 to each of the kick-boxers out of his own pocket to assist them with their personal expenses while on the trip.Governor Juffa, while presenting the cash to Alexander Worogop and Macklaren Hiari at the Holiday Inn gymnasium, said he was happy to promote sports for young athletes from his province.“Young people who refrain from bad activities and turn to sports should be supported at all times. They can become responsible and good leaders in future if they get the backing they need from the government and leaders like ourselves,” he said.Governor Juffa also wished them well as they take part in the competition, adding the support was small but it represented his gratitude and support for the young boxers.The team leaves for New Ireland today (25/11/15) to participate with other boxers from around the country.Picture by Nigins Tiptip.last_img
