Jorg Wolff Foundation Identifies with 3 Orphanages

first_imgDonation of Food & Non-food Items at Dolo’s Town Orphanage Home (2)The Jorg Wolff Foundation, a German Christian based group through the New Apostolic Church in Liberia, recently presented food and other supplies valued at about L$500,000 to three orphanages in Margibi County.The beneficiaries are the Kakata, Owensgrove and Dolo Town orphanages.Apostle Alexander Wreh, head of the New Apostolic Church in Liberia, said the supplies were a personal donation of the Jorg Wolff Foundation to the orphans.Apostle Wreh used the occasion to call on philanthropists, Christians and other religious groups to assist in caring for the vulnerable in the society, which he said was one of the major focuses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.He said if that were to be followed, then it would help to supplement government’s efforts by fulfilling some of the social requirements of the needy in the country.The items included bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, bags of sugar, toiletries and copybooks.Wreh expressed the hope that the presentation would inspire other organizations and individuals to identify with the orphans.Mother Martha Kessely, who received the items on behalf of one of the orphanages, thanked the church and the donor for the gesture, which she described as “a gift worth remembering for the needy in the society.”She said most of the children in the homes lost their parents as a result of the outbreak of the Ebola virus disease, by which Dolo Town was hard hit.Kessely said the orphans  are being catered to by donations and personal contributions from kindhearted people.The major problem facing the homes is food, she emphasized, adding that  hundreds of United States dollars are spent every week to purchase food.Mother Kessely appealed to organizations and individuals to provide scholarships and text books to enhance the education of the children.The foundation is named in honor of its founder, Jorg Wolff,  a successful businessman, a volunteer worker and humanitarian.
