GAA TRIO TIP DONEGAL BUT WARN ABOUT COMPLACENCY

first_imgA panel of former GAA players have all tipped Donegal to take Mayo and claim their second All-Ireland senior title. However Donegal legends Chalrie Mulgrew, Manus Boyle as well as Laois star Colm Parkinson have all warned against complacency in the days leading up to the big game. The trio gave heir opinions at a GAA preview night held in St Eunan’s Clubhouse in Letterkenny on Friday evening.A bumper crowd turned up for the event which was hosted by well-known local Donegal Democrat/People’s Press deputy editor Ciaran O’Donnell. The night covered a number of topics with questions taken from the floor. All three panelists said they felt particularly sorry for ousted Gaoth Dobhair player Kevin Cassidy. Charlie Mulgrew received a huge round of applause when he said he could think of no better player to hopefully raise the Sam Maguire Cup than captain Michael Murphy. The issue of the homecoming would still appear to be a bit of a sticky subject. When the issue was touched on, both Parkinson and Boyle fell backwards off their chairs! There was an apology send by RTE commentator Joe Brolly who was due to be a panelist but could not make after his son was rushed to hospital. The St Eunan’s club wished Brolly’s son a speedy recovery.  GAA TRIO TIP DONEGAL BUT WARN ABOUT COMPLACENCY was last modified: September 16th, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:CHARLIE MULGREWColm ParkinsonletterkennyManus BoyleSt Eunanslast_img
