The vehicle was running on a CNG cylinder and it’s a miracle it didn’t explode – an incident which could’ve injured several people, Deccan Chronicle said. The protesters were going to burn an effigy of President Rajapaksa on the road but when a large posse of policemen turned up, the mob set fire to the effigy inside the vehicle. The activists were protesting against the alleged demolition of a Hindu temple in Trincomalee.
